Manuscript Submissions
Abstracts
Format

1. MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS

  • The manuscript, including footnotes, should be typed using 1.5 line spacing on A4 paper.
  • Articles are to be submitted electronically. Alternatively, articles can be submitted via email to law.journal@qut.edu.au
  • Articles should be 4,000 - 8,000 words in length (including footnotes). Whilst longer articles may be considered, the Editorial Board reserves the right to reject articles which it considers excessively long.
  • Book reviews should be no longer than 3,000 words.
  • Bibliographical details should be included as a note at the bottom of p.1 of the manuscript and should include the author's academic and professional qualifications, current title and position.
  • Language should be direct, concise and gender neutral.
  • QUTLJJ will not publish manuscripts which have been accepted for publication or published elsewhere. Authors who have submitted the same material elsewhere should notify the Editors of the QUTLJJ immediately upon its acceptance by the other publisher.
  • The editors and the publisher of the QUTLJJ do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to any manuscripts.
  • It is the author's responsibility to ensure all references and citations are correct.
  • It is the author's responsibility to ensure material is not defamatory or litigious.

2. ABSTRACTS

In the case of an article, an abstract of no more than 100 words, clearly summarising the arguments, should be submitted with the manuscript.

3. FORMAT

The QUT Law & Justice Journal has adopted the Australian Guide to Legal Citation as its official guide in relation to format, referencing and citations.
